After serving as CEO of colocation provider Datacenter.com for quite some years and establishing its data center presence in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, Jochem Steman has now been hired by data center developer/operator Serverfarm to lead its colocation business for the European market.

Jochem Steman, a well-known figure in the Internet infrastructure and data center industries, will join Serverfarm as Vice President of Colocation Europe. Mr. Steman will be responsible for overseeing the company’s colocation services in Europe’s most important data center markets, including Amsterdam, where Serverfarm owns and manages facilities.

700 Sites in More Than 40 Countries
Jochem Steman comes to this senior position with over 23 years of experience in the IT sector. His in-depth knowledge of the technologies that are driving digital disruption and how to use them has helped numerous mission-critical infrastructure companies flourish, according to Serverfarm. As said, Mr. Steman was formerly the CEO of Datacenter.com, where he successfully developed the firm from the bottom up. Previously, he was in charge of IP networking solutions for multinational cloud service providers and high-tech clients at Brocade.
Steman’s appointment would exemplify Serverfarm’s rapid expansion. The company now manages over 700 sites in more than 40 countries and is continuously expanding. Furthermore, Serverfarm’s parent company, Server Farm Realty, LLC, recently changed its name to Serverfarm, LLC, reflecting the business’s 24-year evolution from a real estate brokerage and management firm to a technology and data center services provider serving worldwide Fortune 500 organizations.
