Siemens Smart Infrastructure has chosen Atos to help accelerate its transformation journey and support the cloud migration of business-critical applications. These applications serve as the backbone for manufacturing, sales, distribution, and operations across most of Siemens Smart Infrastructure’s business units (Building Products, Electrical Products, Distribution Systems, and Digital Grid) around the world.

Siemens Smart Infrastructure has its global headquarters in Zug, Switzerland. As of September 30, 2020, the business had around 69,600 employees worldwide. The company connects energy systems, buildings, and businesses to solve the pressing issues of urbanization and climate change.

Atos is now responsible for moving Siemens’ twenty SAP HANA, SAP Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), and SAP Supply Chain Management (SCM) systems to a hyperscaler-based landscape before the end of 2021. Atos will also be in charge of operating these systems thereafter, leveraging its +35-year long partnership with SAP and its in-depth knowledge of public cloud provider environments.

Atos leverages its OneCloud effort to modernize corporate applications across public, private, and hybrid cloud environments to make them more flexible, mobile, and analytics-driven. It uses the Atos OneCloud team’s expertise to support cloud-application development and modernization to assist Siemens Smart Infrastructure in completing a smooth, safe, and secure migration.

“Atos is proud to further its collaboration with Siemens Smart Infrastructure with this strategic migration project,” said Pierre Barnabe, Global Head of Manufacturing at Atos. “The launch of Atos OneCloud has sharpened our ability to help our clients optimize their processes using the public cloud, without having to sacrifice any of their security or business-specific requirements. Siemens SI’s renewed trust is a testament to our leadership in cloud migration services and transformation.”

“The launch of Atos OneCloud has sharpened our ability to help our clients optimize their processes using the public cloud, without having to sacrifice any of their security or business-specific requirements,” said Pierre Barnabe, Global Head of Manufacturing at Atos.

Siemens Smart Infrastructure would be enabled to take advantage of the public cloud’s considerable cost savings, increased performance, improved system stability, agility, and scalability. Furthermore, the project sets the way for future cloud transformation of Siemens Smart Infrastructure’s ERP landscape as well as the cloud transformation of other important corporate applications.

“The acceleration of digital transformation has taught us that we need to more and more leverage and rely on cloud technologies to run our business, as they provide us superior service, agility and cost benefits,” said Sébastien Bey, CIO of Siemens Smart Infrastructure. “Atos has proven to be a dedicated and reliable partner for this critical transformation project for the fundamental SAP applications for Siemens Smart Infrastructure, and we trust they will support our teams with secure and industrial operations going forward.”

Siemens Smart Infrastructure (SI) is reshaping the market for today’s and tomorrow’s intelligent, adaptable infrastructure. It connects energy systems, buildings, and businesses to solve the pressing issues of urbanization and climate change.
