STACK Expands into Frankfurt with 80MW Hyperscale Data Center

STACK INFRASTRUCTURE Frankfurt

The development of an 80MW data center campus near Frankfurt (Liederbach), Germany, has been announced by STACK Infrastructure, a major worldwide developer and operator of data centers and digital infrastructure partner of the world’s most creative businesses. The new location would give STACK the ability to meet critical customer needs and supply necessary capacity in the city’s competitive data center market.

Coca-Cola, which ran a bottling and distribution facility there for more than 50 years, sold the 70,000 square meter (17 acre) site to STACK. In addition to actively partnering with Coca-Cola in Germany to acquire the site, STACK also worked closely with the Municipality of Liederbach to develop key local ties and a common vision for its new data center complex.

With an emphasis on sustainability and energy efficiency, the data center campus will house four buildings that will support a circular economy by using “cutting-edge” green technology like rainwater collection and the transfer of surplus heat to a planned nearby residential development.
