Global managed WordPress hosting provider Raidboxes from Germany has been acquired by European hosting conglomerate team.blue for an undisclosed sum of money. Since its founding in 2016, Raidboxes has grown from the original founders to 45 people. According to Raidboxes, their own brand name will be retained.

Because of their desire and dissatisfaction as proprietors of a tiny online agency called gutado, Johannes Benz and Torben Simon Meier founded Raidboxes in 2016. In Germany at the time, there were just large, generic hosting companies. They had to rely on U.S. businesses for true WordPress hosting experts. As a result, their WordPress websites performed horribly and support hours were prolonged owing to multiple time zones.

After six years, Raidboxes is now a leading WordPress hosting provider in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland for businesses, agencies, and freelancers who use WordPress to generate revenue. With more than 27,000 dedicated WordPress hosting servers, two data centers, and client projects from more than 55 nations worldwide, the company currently serves more than 16,000 customers.

Combell, TransIP, Register

team.blue was created in 2019 from the merger of three hosting companies: Combell, TransIP, and Register. The hosting conglomerate is headquartered in Belgium, in the heart of Europe.

Raidboxes now claims to have a ‘major’ position in the European WordPress hosting market from a strategic standpoint. In the future, they’ll put even more efforts in offering their managed WordPress hosting solutions to agencies and freelancers in more European countries. The route for Raidboxes would be set for all of Europe thanks to team.blue’s extensive infrastructure and hosting expertise, in addition to the still-vital D-A-CH region.
