team.blue has acquired Enartia, a web hosting and domain provider located in Greece serving the local market with its brands Papaki and Top.Host. After expanding into Turkey, Bulgaria and Czech Republic last year, team.blue further expands its geographical hosting services footprint with the addition of Greece.

Founded in 2004, Enartia is a group of brands focused on ‘digital empowerment’ in Greece, Albania and Serbia, with services including domain registration, web hosting, cloud services, and WordPress hosting. The company serves these local markets through its brands Papaki and Top.Host, with currently about +97K customers and +365K active domain names registered.

While Papaki is more domain name focused, Top.Host would be well-known for its variety of “innovative” web hosting products. To date, Enartia is the only ICANN accredited Registrar in Greece. Financial details about this acquisition were not disclosed.

“I’m excited about starting our success story in Greece together with Enartia. During the deal process, it was clear that Enartia shares the same amount of passion for customer success and local support,” said Jonas Dhaenens, CEO team.blue.

Enartia ran historical in-country acquisitions in parallel with continuous strong organic growth. The current management, as well as the rest of the team headquartered in Heraklion, Crete, will remain on board. The management intends to grow and expand the company further, now supported by and as part of the team.blue group.

“I’m excited about starting our success story in Greece together with Enartia,” said Jonas Dhaenens, CEO team.blue. “During the deal process, it was clear that Enartia shares the same amount of passion for customer success and local support. They truly are digital enablers in Greece and thus uniquely fit our team.blue vision.”

With 10+ million inhabitants, an economy driven by small and medium businesses (SMBs) that may require a steep acceleration of digitalization, the Greek market would be an exciting opportunity for team.blue.

“At Enartia, our goal is to help organizations and individuals achieve their digital goals. We offer them digital empowerment,” stated Enartia’s founders, Fragkoulis Maounis, Dimitris Anthoulakis, and Aggela Anthoulaki. “Joining a leading hosting group like team.blue will help us move our vision to the next level. We are very excited about this new opportunity for our customers and employees.”
