Flextech, a Singapore-based software engineering, data analytics, and marketing automation firm, has selected multicloud hosting solutions company Rackspace Technology for its Google Cloud Platform (GCP) expertise.
Flextech is a technology start-up with a flagship app called ‘Flex Rewards that is accessible in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore. Flex Rewards is a comprehensive end-to-end reward program designed specifically for brick-and-mortar companies. Clients visiting retail shop venues would have a seamless loyalty experience thanks to the app’s smart QR code and GPS technologies. Users may also swap their achievements for Global Awards Tokens through the app’s integrated marketplace.
“Flextech is now able to focus on the app development, customer experience and marketing of its flagship product, Flex Rewards, on GCP and Kubernetes,” said Jeff DeVerter, Chief Technology Evangelist at Rackspace Technology. “By leveraging Rackspace Technology experts, Flextech was able divert time that would have been spent pouring over documents towards improving their primary product.”
Flextech used Kubernetes and Rackspace Technology Service Blocks to create its flagship Flex Rewards mobile application for merchants. The startup also required professional assistance with its in-house application development process when it switched to Google Cloud Platform (GCP) in order to gain the essential DevOps technologies it required, namely Kubernetes.
The migration occurred as the firm launched open beta testing in Singapore, which meant that the company’s three-person development team would have more on their plates than just fine-tuning Flex Rewards in preparation for its debut to other countries. As a result, Flextech sought an experienced service provider to give team support and professional coaching to optimize GCP.
Rackspace Elastic Engineering Model

Flextech chose Rackspace Technology because of its strong GCP experience and Rackspace Elastic Engineering, which gives Flextech’s managed services, such as containers, managed public cloud, and professional services, on-demand access to a team of highly trained engineers. The organization may simply raise its GCP usage and use of more complex capabilities as the Flex Rewards user base grows.
“The Rackspace Elastic Engineering model offers us the ability to start with service support that matches our current needs. This helps us with containerized workloads during app development, facilitating the configuration and automation we need,” said Simon Cheong, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at Flextech. “And then as we grow, we can easily adopt different managed services support to match our new requirements. As our relationship with Rackspace Technology deepens, we are coming to appreciate its help not only with tech issues, but also with business and marketing in general. Its customer success team asks many great questions that help us think through our challenges and push us to find the right solutions together. This gives us confidence that Flex Rewards will be a significant player in the global digital loyalty industry.”
