Testing your Fasthosts website with a test domain name

When you register or make changes to a domain name, it may take up to 72 hours before all Internet Service Providers (ISPs) know where to find your website and mailboxes.

During this time, you may not be able to access the domain name from all ISPs. Instead, you can use a test domain. The test domain is a Fasthosts URL that will direct you to your website, regardless of where the domain name itself is pointing. This enables you to test the website and check that everything is working before any DNS changes have propagated.

You can find your test domain within the package overview section of your control panel. It is turned off by default, but can be activated in a few short, simple steps.
