The new Netherlands-based data center services giant resulting from the merger of The Datacenter Group and NLDC has appointed Alexandra Schless as Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Alexandra Schless comes from Equinix where she worked as VP Global Accounts, Networks and Channel EMEA. The British technology entrepreneur Michael Tobin will become president of the new data center services company.
These senior hires follow the news earlier this year when private equity company DWS announced the acquisitions of the two data center companies. The acquisition of NLDC, previously part of telecom company KPN, has been definitively completed. The merger of the two companies will create the largest regional independent data center company in the Netherlands with approximately 50,000m2 of data center space available. Alexandra Schless will lead the integration of the two companies.
“I look forward to being part of the experienced team that is about to start this new company, which will serve large corporates, governments, cloud and IT service providers as well as smaller companies,” said Alexandra Schless. “Our presence in various cities in the Netherlands enables us to guarantee our clients excellent service on a national level. The company will offer a wide range of data center services and advise and assist customers in the digital transformation to a cloud environment.”

Alexandra Schless has built up extensive experience and expertise in the data center sector. Previously, Schless also worked as Vice President Western Europe and Managing Director Netherlands at the TelecityGroup.
“We are delighted to present Alexandra as CEO,” said Harold d’Hauteville, Head of European Infrastructure at DWS. “With her many years of experience and progressive vision, she is the ideal person to take the new company directly to a high level. We are very ambitious and she will certainly help us achieve those ambitions.”
As the former CEO of TelecityGroup and technology entrepreneur, Michael Tobin holds many non-executive roles internationally. He is also an Advisory Board Member to Plusserver, Leaseweb and Hurley Palmer Flatt.
