Tokyo-based Tama Cable Network Joins NYIIX Internet Exchange in Los Angeles

Telehouse America’s NYIIX Internet Exchange in Los Angeles has welcomed Tama Cable Network (TCN), a cable system operator based in Ome City, Tokyo. TCN’s admission as a network peering user in US-based Internet Exchanges is supported by this agreement, which is the first of its type for NYIIX with a Japan-based Cable TV provider.

Customers of TCN would benefit from extended and upgraded content distribution and streaming services, such as VoD and online gaming, thanks to quicker, more reliable, and secure network services.

Peering Infrastructure

The NYIIX peering exchange, which was founded in 1996 by Telehouse America, is one of the world’s largest neutral Internet Exchange points. NYIIX has maintained loyal to its initial purpose of providing the Internet community with impartial and scalable peering infrastructure, best-in-class dependability, and consistent Internet access for the past 25 years. Through a network of trans-pacific undersea cables, TCN links to NYIIX in Los Angeles via JPIX, Japan’s first commercial Internet Exchange.
