After acquiring a variety of web hosting companies across Europe already, web hosting conglomerate Total Webhosting Solutions (TWS) has acquired a web hosting company from France, o2switch. Financials terms of this acquisition were not disclosed.
Web hosting company o2switch was founded in 2009 by Alexandre Yepes. According to TWS, o2switch’s distinctive ‘unlimited everything’ offering has brought them to the top of the market. In France, their web hosting solution has been a huge success, added TWS which has resulted in a significant expansion of the base of clients.
“The last couple of years we have grown exponentially, and we now serve more than 100.000 unique customers. The business is still growing well above market averages,” said Alexandre Yepes, Founder of o2switch. “Although we continue to see plenty of potential and have the feeling that we are just getting started, we also believe this is the best moment for us to join a European platform like TWS. Together we can professionalize and grow o2switch even further. We also believe we can capture a leading role in the upcoming consolidation of the French market. Web Hosting Acquisitions France
Following the acquisition of French managed web hosting provider Nexylan last year, this is TWS’s first mass market web hosting acquisition in France. According to TWS, their TWS-model has shown to be successful in this quickly evolving industry as the European web hosting market is consolidating at an accelerated rate. This second French web hostijng acquisition would strengthen TWS’s position in France after its development in Spain and its “successful” contribution to consolidation of the web hosting industry in the Netherlands.
