“The CISO role is increasingly a public-facing, critical position in the industry, and this new position further solidifies ViaWest’s role in securing our clients and our own systems,” said Nancy Phillips, President and CEO of ViaWest. “Annalea has built our security practice over the past two years and we are pleased to recognize her contributions as a key leader in the industry and our organization through this promotion.”
In her former roles, Annalea Ilg designed, managed and supported secured and compliant cloud product solutions to help clients meet regulations and protect themselves from security breaches. Additionally, she was responsible for managing the internal IT and security teams at ViaWest supporting 400 users, critical business function services, infrastructure, redundancy, corporate services and shared services. She also managed operational security teams, supporting compliance products and corporate security initiatives.
Before joining ViaWest, Ilg served as Director of Compliance and Security at CoSentry. She has also held senior IT positions at Central States Indemnity Co. of Omaha, Midlands Newspapers, Inc. and St. Francis Hospital of Georgia. She is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional and an Associate Member of the Business Continuity Institute.
Ilg recently was re-elected president of the Omaha and Lincoln, Nebraska, Security Chapter for (ISC)2. She founded the chapter in 2012 and served as president for the first two years. The chapter now has over 250 members.
“I’ve been passionate about solving technical problems while balancing security and compliance since the beginning of my career,” said Annalea Ilg. “As CISO, I look forward to increasing ViaWest’s support for clients seeking secure and compliant solutions and consulting expertise.”
