On July 21, 2015, The Linux Foundation, the nonprofit organization dedicated to accelerating the growth of Linux and collaborative development, announced the Cloud Native Computing Foundation. Companies including IBM, Box, Cisco, CoreOS, Cycle Computing, eBay, Goldman Sachs, Google, Huawei, Intel, Joyent, Mesosphere, Red Hat, SuperNap, Twitter, Univa, VMware and WeaveNetworks today announced their intention to form this new foundation to advance the building of cloud native applications and services, supporting developers to take full advantage of key open source technologies.
