In order to ensure that the emails sent and received from your mail server are encrypted, you need to install a SSL certificate (https://india.resellerclub.com/ssl-certificates) on the portal through which you are sending and receiving emails. When you install a SSL certificate for email server, the sensitive information is encrypted so that it can be accessed only by the intended recipient.

In this video, we take you through the steps on how to install SSL certificate for email server on webmail.

If you are using email services from a hosting package, then, unfortunately, the webmail URL will not get secured.

In order to begin with how to secure emails on the Business email package and Enterprise email package, you can first follow the steps on how to install an SSL certificate on the Webmail URL :

Generate a CSR either by getting in touch with your hosting provider or by using this
link: https://csrgenerator.com/
While generating the CSR, you need to enter the following details :
Country name : (Two letter abbreviation for the country name)
State :
Locality :
Organization name :
Organizational unit :
Common name : (The common name should be the domain name against which you have purchased the SSL certificate for email server to secure the emails). The key size should be 2048

You can generate the CSR after entering the details mentioned above
Once the CSR is generated, you will now see a Private key that gets generated along with it. The Private key is a unique key and therefore you need to copy both – the CSR and Private key, and save it in the Notepad
Next, you need to issue the SSL Certificate for email server which will help secure emails. To issue the SSL Certificate, follow the steps mentioned below:

Login to your Reseller Account (https://india.resellerclub.com/login)
Click on Products
Click on List All Orders
Click on the Domain Name associated with the SSL Certificate
Go to the SSL certificate section and click on the ‘Issue Certificate’ option.
In the Issue Certificate option, you need to paste the CSR code and click on ‘Next’.

You will now see a new screen where you have to select an email account in order to verify and validate the installed SSL certificate which is required to secure emails (This is an important step).

You need to select any one of the following email accounts compulsorily:

-admin@domainname
-webmaster@domainname
-postmaster@domainname
-hostmaster@domainname
-administrator @domainname

Once you have selected any one of the email accounts mentioned above, you will receive a verification mail on that email account.

You need to get the verification done only after which you will receive the SSL certificate for email server code on the same email account.

You need to copy the entire certificate code and save it in the Notepad. After that, you need to:
Login to your Reseller Account (https://india.resellerclub.com/login)
Click on Products
Click on List All Orders
Click on the Domain Name associated with the Business email or the Enterprise email package where you wish to install the SSL certificate for email server.
Go to the Business Email or the Enterprise Email section and click on ‘Manage Email Account(s)’
You will be redirected to a new window. Click on the ‘Mail’ option at the top and then select the ‘Install SSL Certificate’ option under ‘Webmail Settings’ to secure your emails.
Under the ‘Certificate’ section, you need to paste the Certificate Code that you had received on your email.
Under ‘Private Key’ section, you need to paste the Private key that was generated along with the CSR.
Then click on ‘Install’

Refresh the page.

You will now see a CNAME record generated at the top which would be similar to as follows:

Hostname : webmail.domainname
CNAME Value : us3.proxy.mailhostbox.com

You need to add this CNAME Record in the active DNS Zone of the domain associated with the Business email package or Enterprise email package.

It will take around 4-6 hours for the CNAME record to propagate after which, the Webmail URL will be secured by the SSL certificate and it will also secure the emails that will be sent and received through the mail server.

And this is how you secure emails by installing an SSL certificate for your emails server on the webmail.
