How To Take a Backup Of Your Website From cPanel | ResellerClub

You can generate the cpanel automatic backup using the Backup Wizard option provided in the cPanel.

In this video, we will take you through the steps on how to take backup of website from cpanel of your hosting account hosted at ResellerClub.

To begin with how to take a backup of your website from the cPanel of your Linux hosting package, you need to follow the steps mentioned below:

Login to your Reseller Account (http://bit.ly/2v2PNsu)
Click on Products
Select List All Orders
Click on the Domain Name associated with the Linux Hosting package
Go to your Linux Hosting order and then click on Manage web hosting

You are now in the control panel of the hosting package where you wish to create a cPanel backup of your website date..

To create a cPanel manual backup in the control panel of your hosting package , follow the steps mentioned below:
On the cPanel home page, under the Files section, click on Backup Wizard.
Click on the ‘Back Up’ option available in the Back up Wizard. Here you will be provided with the two options: full cPanel backup and partial cPanel backup.

To generate a Full cPanel Backup :

In the Full or Partial Backup section, click Full Backup.

From the Backup Destination drop-down, select the destination where you want the cPanel backup to be stored.
Home directory – Saves the cPanel full backup on the server.
Remote FTP server – Saves the cPanel full backup on a remote server using FTP.
Remote FTP Server (passive mode transfer) – Saves the cPanel full backup on a remote server using passive FTP.
Secure Copy (SCP) – Saves the cPanel full backup file on a remote server using SCP.

In case you wish to save the cPanel backup in a Remote Server, you will have to enter the remote server information in the fields mentioned below. This is applicable if you select the Remote FTP server, Remote FTP server (passive mode transfer) or Secure Copy (SCP) options.
Remote Server : (Enter the IP address of the remote server)
Remote User : (Enter the username of the Remote Server)
Remote Password : (Enter the username of the remote password)
Port : 21
Remote Dir : (The directory under which you wish to save the backup in remote server)

Select the option to receive an email notification when the cPanel backup process finishes or select the ‘Do not send email notification on backup completion” if you do not wish to be notified.

Then click on the ‘Generate cPanel Backup’ option to begin the cPanel full backup. You will see a notification stating that the cPanel backup will be generated and you will be notified on the selected email account.

Click on the ‘Go Back’ option to return to the download section.

You can download the cPanel automatic backup by clicking on the link under Backups Available for download.

Please note :
If you have selected the Home Directory option, click on the filename in the download section of the interface to download cPanel backup file.

The date of creation of the cPanel backup file appears in the filename, which begins with a backup-MM-DD-YYYY string, which represents the month, date the year format.
The system stores the cPanel full backup files as tarballs that uses the .tar.gz file extension.

b) To generate a cPanel Partial Backup :

In the Full or Partial Backup section, under the ‘Select Partial Backup’ section, select the option for which you want to create a cPanel automatic backup.
Home Directory – Backups your home directory.
My SQL Databases – Backups your databases.
Email Forwarders & Filters – Backups your email forwarders or filters.

You can download the respective cPanel backup by clicking on the link/button.

Please note :
The partial backups downloaded will have the following file type and extension.

Home directory – *.tar.gz.
Email Forwarders and Filter – *.net, *.com
My SQL Databases – *.sql

After completing the steps mentioned above, you will have successfully generated the cPanel backup for the required data.
