VMware has come up with a new solution named VMware Cross-Cloud services that will help customers in driving digital innovation with enterprise control. The solution is making it simple for Amazon Web Services (AWS) clients to purchase and deploy VMware Cross-Cloud services to support their AWS environments. As of now, VMware Tanzu and VMware Carbon Black Cloud are the latest services available in the AWS Marketplace.
VMware Cross-Cloud services would provide distinct advantages to both IT operators and developers working in AWS. These leverages consist of adopting a cloud operating model for their entire organizations, migrating workloads faster to the cloud, boosting application modernization, and connecting a distributed workforce to cloud-based resources in a highly efficient and secure way.
“The addition of VMware Cross-Cloud services in AWS Marketplace brings VMware’s portfolio of solutions to both developers and infrastructure and operations professionals who are building apps and operating their businesses in AWS,” said Mona Chadha, Director, AWS Marketplace Category Management, AWS. “Our mutual customers can streamline procurement and accelerate adoption of VMware Cross-Cloud services, leading to faster time-to-value and better business outcomes.”
Advancing App Modernization and DevSecOps
VMware Tanzu, one of the new marketplace listings, is a modern approach towards an application platform to build, run, and manage modern apps on AWS and hybrid-cloud infrastructure. The solution would offer a consistent experience for coders and operators, allowing them to navigate the complexities of Kubernetes and modern applications.
Core to Tanzu is basically an upstream aligned Kubernetes distribution that can be operated easily and is maintained using Cluster API for deploying and updating clusters. Customers can take advantage of expert services by VMware Tanzu Labs to work simultaneously with the teams to create capabilities and install processes that show immediate and lasting impact.
Enterprise Security – VMware Carbon Black Cloud
VMware Carbon Black Cloud can be described in easy words as a cloud-native endpoint, container protection, and workload platform that allows customers to operationalize consistent, modern security in AWS and hybrid cloud environments. VMware Carbon Black Cloud hyperactively identify attackers’ behaviour patterns and provides the authority to defenders to make quick response and retaliate in real-time.
The endpoint, workload, and container security capabilities are unified into one console and one agent. The infrastructure and infosec teams have a single, shared source of truth to improve security together.

SD-WAN and Cloud-Delivered Security
VMware SASE integrates both SD-WAN capabilities with cloud-delivered security functions, including zero-trust network access, firewalling, and cloud web security. These capabilities are delivered as-a-service across both the near and far edge locations from a global network of points of presence (PoPs). By taking advantage of VMware SASE, AWS customers can simplify, manage, and automate WAN infrastructure across thousands of locations and better support distributed workforces.
Cloud-Native Security and Compliance
VMware’s CloudHealth Secure State solution is a cloud-native security and compliance technology that enables businesses safeguard millions of cloud resources at scale. CloudHealth Secure State provides security visibility with real-time inventory search, enhanced risk correlation, and over 950 best practices rules to identify security and compliance violations using a resource relationship-based cloud data architecture.
AWS clients can use CloudHealth Secure State to:
- Reduce misconfigurations and prioritize risks, with visible risk context and a more secure auto-remediation strategy
- Use out-of-the-box benchmarks and business modifications, to improve compliance with industry standards
- Improve developer, security, and operations team cooperation to operationalize a cloud security program
Cloud-Native Load Balancing and Web Security
The VMware NSX Advanced Load Balancer is a contemporary, stand-alone application services platform that may be deployed in the public cloud or on-premises. Local and global load balancing, Web Application Firewall (WAF), and container ingress services are all part of the software-defined platform. NSX Advanced Load Balancer integrates natively with AWS to provide central orchestration of a distributed load balancing and application security fabric, “powerful” analytics and visibility to help administrators troubleshoot problems in seconds, and elastic on-demand scaling of services across data centers and clouds.
AWS clients can use NSX Advanced Load Balancer to:
- Deploy centralized orchestration, elastic scaling, and cloud-native integration across clouds and on-premises environments to simplify application delivery operations
- Provide self-service capabilities for application teams by automating load balancing, autoscaling, container ingress, and application security
- Use deep insights into more than 700 application networking parameters to pinpoint application performance and security concerns
Revolutionizing Cloud Management with CloudHealth
Cloudhealth is a cloud management platform that aids AWS customers in making cloud financial management easy by streamlining cloud operations and enhancing cross-organizational collaboration. AWS customers can take advantage of VMware’s deep insight as well as experience in the public cloud management to grow their own cloud expertise using a proven framework to progress via their cloud management maturity journey.
“Whether a customer has transitioned their business to run entirely in AWS or has a mixed environment of AWS and VMware vSphere, VMware Cross-Cloud services gives them the freedom and enterprise control they need to innovate and win,” said Vittorio Viarengo, vice president, cross-cloud solutions, VMware. “Our expanded presence in AWS Marketplace is another proof point of our focus on meeting customers where they are at by delivering value for the strategic cloud environment of their choice.”
