Wanclouds Introduces Multi-Cloud Cost Optimization Solution

Multi-cloud SaaS solution and managed service provider, Wanclouds, has introduced its Cloud Optimization as a Service (COaaS) at KubeCon + CloudNativeCon North America 2022 in Detroit. The VPC+-powered Wanclouds COaaS for multi-cloud settings offers enterprise-wide spend visibility and cost tracking for different cloud services.

“Recommendations are great, but implementing cloud optimization is typically very difficult,” said Faiz Khan, CEO at Wanclouds.

At KubeCon + CloudNativeCon North America 2022, Wanclouds has also announced that clients may install cloud optimization as a managed service in addition to being provided as a SaaS solution. Organizations will still have access to COaaS’s DRaaS and MaaS capabilities through the managed service offering, but the Wanclouds team will put in place the necessary measures to guarantee successful, timely, and resource-free installations.

Users of COaaS would benefit from a real-time view of the cost of cloud resources, suggestions for infrastructure adjustments for purpose labeling and backups, as well as choices for resource pausing. Clients may find optimization possibilities surrounding idle resources, rightsizing, stopping test environments, adopting reserve instances, and backing up Kubernetes clusters when the service recognizes these key factors. More crucially, Wanclouds would enable organizations to act on these cost-saving suggestions with only one click. Users of AWS can presently access COaaS, and users of Google Cloud, IBM Cloud, and Microsoft Azure will soon be able to do the same.

Hybrid and Multi-Cloud Infrastructure

The recent release of Wanclouds’ 2022 Cloud Cost and Optimization Outlook underlined the need for more insight into cloud expenditures from IT departments. The report revealed that just 43% of cloud decision-makers had insight into costs and usage throughout their cloud environment, based on a Q3 survey of more than 500 U.S. IT professionals.

The increased usage of hybrid and multi-cloud infrastructure, which makes it more difficult to manage costs across cloud platforms, is another source of cost problems. For instance, 70% of IT teams using Kubernetes indicate that it has increased their cloud investment as containers become more and more the preferred platform for the hybrid cloud. Nearly a quarter of IT professionals (24%) say they have hired specialists in ‘FinOps,’ or cloud financial management, to help them revise their company’s cloud strategy. These financial decision-makers can manage and optimize their cloud expenditure with the help of Wanclouds COaaS, which would offer the information and suggestions they may require.

“Our cloud optimization service enables a proactive cloud optimization approach that improves how enterprises measure their cloud needs based on financial resources and allows them to make cost-effective decisions earlier,” said Faiz Khan, CEO at Wanclouds. “Recommendations are great, but implementing cloud optimization is typically very difficult. We’re taking the pain out of that process by helping organizations pause and restart entire workloads on the fly for the first time to maximize savings.”
