Privately held web hosting company InMotion Hosting, via their acquisition arm WebVentures.io, has acquired the assets of RamNode in early February. RamNode is a Cloud VPS hosting company founded in 2012. Financial terms of the acquisition were not (yet) disclosed.
RamNode offers its Cloud VPS hosting solutions from data center locations throughout the U.S. including Atlanta, Seattle, New York City and Los Angeles. The VPS hosting provider is also offering its solutions in Europe, from Dataplace’s colocation facility in the Netherlands.
According to Inmotion Hosting co-founder, Sunil Saxena, his company will continue to run the RamNode brand as-is. No re-branding, consolidation or changes to the core product line is on the table right now, so Mr. Saxena writes on Lowendtalk.com.
RamNode founder and CEO Nick Adams will step down and leave the company. “Nick is a great guy. He and I have spent quite a bit of time on the phone getting to know each other personally and professionally. Nick and I really felt that InMotion Hosting was the best move for his customers and employees,” stated Mr. Saxena in his post on Lowendtalk.com last Thursday. “All staff, outside of Nick, have come over in the deal. It is my core focus that we will do our best to maintain the culture, quality of support and technical experience that you all have come to expect from RamNode.”

Web Ventures is the acquisitions and investment arm of the InMotion Hosting family. Having recently acquired W3 Total Cache, Elegant Marketplace as well as the WorldPress invoice plugin, Sprout Invoices, Web Ventures plans to continue investing in WordPress companies for the foreseeable future.
