Web Hosting Provider TransIP Group Buys It-Ernity, Grows Annual Turnover to €70M

TransIP Group, a Dutch web hosting and cloud provider, has acquired another company from the Netherlands, IT-Ernity Holding – the hosting and Internet solutions company behind the brands Proserve, CloudVPS, Signet, VDX, Web plug and DDS.

TransIPTransIP stated that a larger customer target group can be addressed by combining web hosting and domain names from VDX, Web plug, DDS; managed and it-solutions from Proserve; connectivity and network solutions from Signet; and cloud and infrastructure solutions from CloudVPS.

The combined company, which now grows to almost four hundred thousand customers, has 210 employees and an annual turnover of approximately 70 million euros. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. The acquisition capital comes from TransIP itself. Raymond Kasiman and Jeroen Hüpscher (current CEO TransIP) will jointly form the new board of directors of TransIP.

TransIP founder Ali Niknam repurchased his interest in the web hosting company last year. Mr. Niknam initially sold an interest and the control over TransIP to a Swedish investor, EQT, but the investing company and Niknam appeared to have different views on the company’s go-to-market strategy. TransIP’s founder and this investor had different views on how to expand internationally, but in the end, Mr. Nikhem repurchased his shares. Next, to TransIP, Ali Niknam also set up Bunq, a technology-focused bank
