With ransomware and other cyber threats on the rise, the education and government sectors are more frequently targeted by malevolent attacks. Back in 2016, security analysis by BitSight revealed that the volume of ransomware attacks in education surpassed those in government and healthcare. According to their findings, 13 percent of educational institutions had experienced the malware, compared to 5.9 percent of government institutions and 3.5 percent of healthcare providers.
As the two most frequently target industries, education and government need adequate ransomware protection and availability strategies.
One of the most effective strategies to protect from ransomware and ensure data availability is to have a proper backup and disaster recovery plan. In this webinar, Bryan Sarpad, phoenixNAP’s Sales Engineer Manager, and Brandon McCoy, Systems Engineering from Veeam discuss the best practices for developing a backup and disaster recovery plan, as well as technologies available to the institutions in these sectors.
The talk covers:
• The state of security in the education and government sectors
• The most frequent challenges for availability plan implementation
• The available solutions for backup and DR
