Until recently, southern California-based windows hosting provider WinHost didn’t have a clear ‘face’ to the outside world. Founded in 2009, WinHost was still lacking a General Manager to lead the company. Now they have one.
Celebrating its four-year anniversary, WinHost has introduced Danny Faccini as the first full-time General Manager to lead the fast-growing website hosting provider. Faccini comes on board at a time when new technologies have transitioned the market away from traditional Windows hosting models.
“The company has experienced tremendous organic growth, especially in the last two years, and I’m here to help us evolve with the market by leveraging our technology expertise,” said Danny Faccini.
Web Developers and Designers
The company was founded by a core group of Windows hosting technologists that had already been architecting Windows web hosting environments for more than ten years. The end result for WinHost is a platform built by a team whose work Microsoft has recognized publicly as an example of how to do it right. Over the past few years, WinHost has carved out a niche in the crowded website hosting market as a low-cost hosting platform for Windows applications.
It’s clear from Faccini’s reaction that he’s excited about the opportunity. “I get to lead a company that has done very well with almost no marketing and has an incredibly satisfied customer base,” he exclaimed. “Now it’s time to bring our new technologies to market and introduce ourselves to the broader community of web developers and designers.”
Faccini joins WinHost after spending most of his career focused on creating web platforms for small businesses. He most recently served as Chief Operating Officer and Product Lead of Pictage, a platform for professional photographers to manage their workflow and market their images. Faccini also led the product management team at another website hosting provider, Affinity Internet, prior to its acquisition by Hostway in 2007.
Faccini will be responsible for day-to-day management of the Windows hosting company. “It’s the first time there’s really been a face to the company,” he said. “ I think it will put customers at ease knowing that we’re not some anonymous group sitting behind keyboards.”
