WiredTree Upgrades Storage and Memory Resources of Virtual Server Hosting Plans

Hosting provider WiredTree, a Chicago-based provider of managed virtual servers, dedicated servers, and hybrid servers, has announced a significant storage and memory resource upgrade to its virtual server (VPS) hosting plans. Existing WiredTree clients will also get a performance boost without a matching price hike.

The WiredTree managed virtual private (VPS) server plans will see a 50 percent increase of its available RAM resources. WiredTree’s entry-level VPS1000 plans will become VPS1500 plans, with an increase in memory to 1536 MB. Disk space will be increased to 100 GB of RAID–10 storage, and transfer allowances will increase to 4000 GB.

All WiredTree’s virtual server (VPS) plans will be given an equivalent increase in resource allocation. The top-end virtual server plan now comprises 2560MB guaranteed RAM and 150GB of SSD-Accelerated Disk Space. VPS clients would experience a significant boost to the performance of their virtual servers as the RAM upgrades and the addition of SSD caching increases responsiveness.

The hosting provider’s managed hybrid servers will also benefit from upgraded memory and data transfer. Hybrid plans, which currently include 3 GB of guaranteed RAM, will be upgraded to 4 GB, and the premium data transfer allocation will double to 10 GB. In addition to increased RAM and bandwidth transfer, managed hybrid servers plans will also be upgraded to include SSD acceleration, making them an even better option for clients who need enterprise performance without the price tag of a dedicated server.
