XBT’s New Colocation Brand, Datacenter.com, Announces Start of Construction New Flagship Data Center in Amsterdam

XBT, a company with offices in eight countries and brands including DDoS.com, Servers.com and Datacenter.com, has commenced construction of a new 10,900 square meter flagship data center in Amsterdam (AMS01) for its Datacenter.com brand. The company acquired the datacenter.com domain name back in 2014 for the reported amount of $500,000.

Datacenter.com’s new colocation data center is a 10-megawatt facility offering 5,000 square meters of raised floor colocation space, featuring a highly energy-efficient design.

“Our new data center facility in Amsterdam allows us to meet the increasing demand for secure and scalable data center services from businesses and industries worldwide,” said Jochem Steman, CEO of Datacenter.com.

Datacenter.com will not only be using the most advanced cooling technologies but also highly efficient UPS systems. Additionally, Datacenter.com’s new data center will be running entirely on green power from renewable resources, reducing the environmental footprint to a minimum. Datacenter.com’s flagship colocation data center in Amsterdam is expected to be operational by spring 2017.

“Our new data center facility in Amsterdam allows us to meet the increasing demand for secure and scalable data center services from businesses and industries worldwide,” said Jochem Steman, CEO of Datacenter.com. “Thus, revealing the true potential of data-driven digital transformation through globalization. With our colocation services, we are supporting businesses by providing a highly secured, solid foundation. This will enable them to fully leverage the opportunities brought by the digital economy.”

Datacenter.com AMS01 is located in the Amsterdam Southeast business district – a fiber-dense area with 460 available fiber optic connections.

Domain names are extremely valued by XBT. Previously, XBT paid $100,000 to acquire ddos.com and $300,000 to acquire servers.com. The company also bought Root.lu and 800-hosting. At the moment of publishing, the Datacenter.com website is still under construction.
