Zayo Group (NYSE: ZAYO), an international provider of bandwidth infrastructure and colocation services, has announced the launch of its VMware Hybrid Cloud Powered cloud hosting service. Built with and operated using VMware vSphere 6 and VMware vCloud Director, Zayo now offers a differentiated hybrid cloud solution that enables customers to utilize the same VMware infrastructure off-premises as they are running on-premises.
With these enhanced hybrid cloud solutions, Zayo Group customers would be able to manage and move on-premises, VMware-based workloads to Zayo’s private or multi-tenant cloud infrastructure seamlessly, from a single management console.
Zayo’s new hybrid system provides one integrated interface for both public and private cloud access. This would result in a seamless and easy-to-use solution when moving VMware-based workloads among onsite data centers, internal private clouds and the public cloud.
“The industry needs IaaS solutions delivered on a highly flexible, workload-by-workload basis with the mobility optimized in hybrid cloud solutions,” said Greg Friedman, executive vice president, Colocation and Cloud Infrastructure at Zayo. “The enhancements we have made to our platform, combined with the investments in security and advanced monitoring, are enabling us to deliver on these new enterprise requirements.”
Zayo Group is a VMware vCloud Air Network Service Provider partner. VMware vCloud Director automates the provisioning of software-defined data center resources, enabling service providers to deliver complete virtual data centers “for easy consumption in minutes.”
“VMware Hybrid Cloud Powered services enable our service provider partners to differentiate themselves and help them bring their enterprise-class cloud services to market in this competitive landscape,” said Jim Aluotto, director, Service Providers, Americas, VMware. “We look forward to supporting Zayo as it delivers on the agility and performance customers are looking for in the cloud computing landscape.”
Zayo’s ‘Cloud Enabled Systems Infrastructure’ serves emerging enterprise customer requirements, including a hybrid mix that consists of “best of breed” multi-tenant cloud hosting solutions and high-density data center colocation. It also includes “high-performance” connectivity options ranging from dark fiber to wavelengths and Ethernet services.
