Zetta.net Offers Migration Option For Clients Affected By Shutdown Symantec Backup Exec.Cloud

cloud-backup-solutions-zettaZetta.net, a cloud backup & disaster recovery solution provider for enterprises and managed hosting companies, has announced a migration offer for businesses affected by Symantec’s shutdown of Backup Exec.Cloud. Zetta.net offers up to 6 months free enterprise-grade cloud backup service and 20% off annual contracts.

According to Symantec, hosting and other service providers will no longer be able to sell Backup Exec.Cloud subscription licenses or renewals for Backup Exec.cloud as of January 6, 2014. Existing customers will be able to utilize the product until the end of service availability on January 6, 2015 or the end of their current term (whichever comes first). After January 6, 2015, customers and partners will not have access to the service, data or technical support.

The offer by Zetta.net enables Symantec Backup Exec.Cloud customers to apply the unused balance of their service – up to 6 months – to Zetta’s cloud backup & DR service – free of charge – in addition to a 20% discount on an annual cloud backup contract.

Enterprise-grade cloud backup

Zetta.net’s cloud backup & DR solution would provide customers with true enterprise-grade cloud backup performance and security along with an easy to master user interface that’s simple to deploy and manage from anywhere. Data can be recovered four ways: from the cloud through a mapped network drive, the ZettaMirror software agent, or a web browser – with recovery from local storage an option for non-disaster recoveries. There is no appliance hardware to buy.

The patent pending cloud backup technology of Zetta.net enables customers to protect data sets from 1TB to 100TB, and backup and recovery up to 5TB in 24 hours directly to or from the cloud. All customer data is encrypted, in transit across the internet and at rest in the data center, using 256-bit SSL and Salsa20 encryption. The service is HIPAA and ITAR compliant, SSAE-16 audited, and would deliver 99.99996% backup reliability plus a 100% recovery reliability.

Zetta.net, headquartered in Sunnyvale, Calif., was established in 2008 by successful serial entrepreneurs and technology executives from companies such as Netscape, VeriSign, Symantec, EMC, and Shutterfly. The company is seeing 247% YoY growth, and currently serves more than 650 enterprise customers & managed hosting providers.
