AccelStor, a software-defined all-flash array provider, has announced their new NeoSapphire 3605 and NeoSapphire 3611 – a pair of dedicated all-flash arrays with dual-port 16G Fiber Channel interfaces and sustained 360K IOPS for 4KB random writes.
NeoSapphire 3605 offers 5TB usable capacity while NeoSapphire 3611 provides 11TB in a compact 1U rack-mount form factor. The “low latency and high reliability” of Fiber Channel would make these new arrays ideal for demanding, time-critical applications including banking, finance, and media production. Reliability is further enhanced by hot-swappable drives and redundant power supplies.

The Fiber Channel interfaces would ensure low latency for Storage Area Networks. Dual-port 16G Fiber Channel, and backward compatibility with 8G, would make these arrays easy to integrate into existing SANs for applications such as banking and media production. Multipathing features allow connection redundancy for I/O balance, fail-over, and seamless fault recovery.
The NeoSapphire 3611’s dedicated all-flash hardware design makes it an extremely compact and dense storage solution, with 20 trays of SSDs in a single rack unit. It would offer a substantial saving of rack space, compared to traditional arrays and competing products, and allows extra room for future expansion, making it a perfect choice when upgrading from traditional storage devices. The NeoSapphire 3605 offers 10 trays of SSDs in 1U rack space.
According to AccelStor, deploying an AccelStor NeoSapphire 3605 or NeoSapphire 3611 all-flash array can instantly provide transfer speeds up to 3 times faster than traditional mechanical hard disk drives. As for random I/O processing, sustained performance of 360K IOPS would help resolve the storage bottlenecks that often hamstring operations such as server virtualization and database traversal.
NeoSapphire series are equipped with AccelStor‘s exclusive FlexiRemap software-defined flash technology. Designed for sustained performance and reliability even in the random-access scenarios typical of enterprise storage needs, FlexiRemap software technology remaps random data writes as sequential ones whenever it is beneficial, before passing them to the underlying SSDs. FlexiRemap would avoid unnecessary overheads and extend SSD lifespan by greatly reducing the number of write/erase cycles. Thanks to the global wear-leveling algorithm, these arrays would have at least twice the longevity of typical legacy RAID 5 flash systems.
