CloudLinux Acquires Automated Website Malware Cleanup Company, Revisium

cloudlinuxThe maker of operating systems for web hosting providers, CloudLinux, has acquired Revisium for an undisclosed sum. Founded seven years ago, Revisium delivers malware cleanup automation and its products until now have cleaned hundreds of thousands of websites worldwide.

The acquisition agreement was signed about a week ago. In the next version of CloudLinux’s Imunify360 solution, releasing within the next few days, Revisium’s malware scanner will be the main website malware scanning engine.

The new website malware scanning engine would improve Imunify360’s detection rates further and “dramatically” improve the speed of the scan, especially for servers with many websites, a typical feature of shared web hosting servers. In combination with the recently released Imunify360 Proactive Defense solution, that stops new zero-day malware, CloudLinux would provide a strong defense against known and unknown attacks, making it quite an interesting security solution available to web hosting providers.

CloudLinux has planned to fully incorporate Revisium’s automated malware cleanup technology in the Imunify360 solution in the near future, letting service providers and website owners self-clean infections “with one click.” The technology will be part of Imunify360 at no extra cost. Revisium’s domain reputation check and blacklist monitoring technology will also be fully integrated into Imunify360. Revisium’s “unique” technology checks websites against 60 different blacklists, telling website owners to know if their sites’ reputations are in doubt. Revisium’s malware scanner will also be integrated into the company’s shared web hosting solution, CloudLinux OS.
