Colt and Venari Security Partner to Boost Encrypted Traffic Visibility and Compliance

Connectivity provider Colt Technology Services, a key global player in digital infrastructure, has announced an innovative partnership with London-based cybersecurity firm, Venari Security. This strategic alliance is set to offer organizations increased visibility into their encrypted network traffic, a move that would not only strengthen cybersecurity but also assist in meeting the increasingly complex regulatory requirements.

This partnership involves Colt integrating Venari Security’s “trailblazing” Encrypted Traffic Analysis (ETA) platform, VigilanceAI, into its existing service suite. This platform would offer a unique perspective and comprehensive visibility into the active use of encryption across enterprise operations, which include cloud, regulated, and third-party environments. Consequently, Colt customers can maintain stringent encryption standards while ensuring data privacy in transit. The outcome according to Colt? A reduced risk exposure and a smaller potential attack surface.

Colt’s VP Innovation, Mirko Voltolini, explained, “We continually search for ground-breaking technologies that address our customers’ actual business challenges. Venari Security’s solution empowers businesses to measure, monitor, and ensure compliance with encrypted communications.”

Mr. Voltolini further stated that regulated industries and global organizations are grappling with significant challenges in meeting country-specific and regulatory obligations. In light of recent significant changes in regulatory and privacy laws, encrypting data in transit has become a necessity. Voltolini believes that Venari Security’s VigilanceAI platform can innovatively address this encrypted communications challenge.

Maintaining Encryption on Data in Transit

Hiten Mistry, Chief Revenue Officer at Venari Security
“Our state-of-the-art platform helps organizations understand their encrypted communications and identify risks,” said Hiten Mistry, Chief Revenue Officer at Venari Security.

Sharing the excitement about the partnership, Hiten Mistry, Chief Revenue Officer at Venari Security, said, “Our state-of-the-art platform helps organizations understand their encrypted communications, identify risks, and ensure customers meet their privacy and regulatory obligations concerning encryption.”

Mr. Mistry further stressed the severe financial penalties and reputational damage organizations could face by non-compliance with privacy and regulatory requirements. Additionally, he pointed out the need for organizations to gain visibility of their encrypted communications to prepare for a post-quantum era, given the rise of quantum computing.

The recent Forrester report, ‘Top Cybersecurity Threats in 2023,’ reveals that 74% of organizations reported at least one cybersecurity incident in the past 12 months, highlighting the timeliness and significance of this collaboration.

Maxine Holt, Senior Director – Cybersecurity at Omdia, believes that with regulators taking data privacy breaches more seriously, maintaining encryption on data in transit while simultaneously understanding potential malicious activity can better protect organizations and demonstrate compliance.

Venari’s VigilanceAI platform, which includes two solutions – V-Comply and V-Detect, will be integrated into Colt’s service offerings. This would enable Colt to deliver a comprehensive TLS attack surface review as part of its standard security hygiene service for its customers.

This partnership with Venari Security marks another milestone in Colt’s ongoing digital transformation program, which aims at enhancing, simplifying, and automating systems and processes that directly address customers’ business challenges and improving Colt’s industry-leading customer experience.
