IaaS Hosting Company DediPath Selects EdgePresence to Deliver Bare Metal Solutions

DediPath, a provider of infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) solutions, has signed a multi-year partnership to provide bare metal colocation solutions within EdgePresence data centers. EdgePresence recently announced it would be deploying twenty edge colocation facilities in the next 12 months with 10 set to be live by the end of 2019. The company’s Jacksonville, Florida location is currently available with bare metal solution capabilities.

“With the increase of mobile internet usage, awareness and use of the Internet of Things, and the release of 5G nationwide, customers have a need for their data to be located and accessed at the edge of the network,” said Ernie Quick, CTO of DediPath.

Through its selection of EdgePresence, DediPath would be able to provide its services along with bare metal colocation solutions for enterprise businesses in edge markets throughout the U.S.

DediPath, currently available in EdgePresence’s Jacksonville EdgePod location, will offer its solutions in all 10 EdgePresence colocation facilities by the end of 2019 with plans to grow alongside the company as it continues to execute on its national deployment roadmap.

“The edge market is critical for businesses embracing digital transformation, and the opportunities to build solutions that are viable for both today and tomorrow are possible,” said Doug Recker, Founder and CEO of EdgePresence. “The industry is tending towards a more distributed infrastructure, leveraging network solutions that bring data closer to users which drastically improves capabilities and performance. We’re excited to be the company that is bringing those solutions to clients today while building fortified edge capabilities for tomorrow.”

Micro Data Centers at The Edge

EdgePresence’s highly scalable EdgePods provide purpose-built edge compute micro data centers that are comprehensively and compactly designed to include critical power, distribution, fire suppression, physical security, and cooling inconspicuously located at the edge of the network. These EdgePods would also provide access to “robust” low latency network connectivity including transit and transport services from each EdgePod location. This unique approach to network and infrastructure distribution would offer “turnkey” solutions to global enterprises and businesses that are looking to leverage a “flexible and dynamic” edge strategy. DediPath’s bare metal servers would enable customers in EdgePresence’s EdgePod locations to leverage greater flexibility when managing their digital assets at the edge.

“With the increase of mobile internet usage, awareness and use of the Internet of Things, and the release of 5G nationwide, customers have a need for their data to be located and accessed at the edge of the network,” said Ernie Quick, CTO of DediPath. “Our dedicated servers offer lower latency to and from mobile users on the edge, which improves performance, accessibility and provides greater reach than traditional urban-based data center locations.”

DediPath is excited about expanding and growing with EdgePresence to offer our enterprise-class solutions along with bare metal services at the edge,” said Mark Jiannino, CEO of DediPath. “Our selection of EdgePresence as our go to market partner for bare metal solutions at the edge was an easy decision. EdgePresence offers all of the locations we were looking to grow into, plus N+1 infrastructure, 24×7 NOC, and its unprecedented layer 2 connectivity back to major carrier hotels in traditional urban centers.”
