Atos Launches Supercomputing-as-a-Service and Dedicated Bare Metal

Nimbix Supercomputing Suite, a package of flexible and secure high-performance computing (HPC) solutions offered as a service, has been released by Atos. The Nimbix Supercomputing Suite from Atos now offers two new services: a federated Supercomputing-as-a-Service offering and dedicated bare metal services, giving clients more flexibility for their compute-intensive applications and more consumption options.

HPC in cloud computing will continue to rise at double-digit rates until 2025, according to industry estimates. With the introduction of its Nimbix Supercomputing Suite, Atos would now offer one of the most comprehensive HPC and supercomputing portfolios available, ranging from hardware to bare metal-as-a-service to the democratization of advanced computing in the cloud and across public and private data centers.

Nimbix Federated, a federated supercomputing-as-a-service, is an innovative technique for the federation of large-scale machines and clouds, as well as managed services, to enable collaborative scientific computing, and is part of the new suite. Both public and commercial infrastructure operators will be able to use each other’s resources. This Federated as-a-Service offering provides a single service console for managing all compute zones and regions in a public or private supercomputing environment.

“Customers can integrate their HPC workflows in the most comprehensive as-a-Service portfolio in the industry; including seamless integration with any hyperscale CSPs,” said Emmanuel Le Roux, Group SVP, Head of HPC AI & Quantum, Atos.

The Atos BullSequana X series of HPC servers is well-established in the industry, and it is designed to give maximum flexibility and efficiency across the broadest possible range of applications. Atos now offers HPC bare metal-as-a-service (BMaaS) as part of its newly released portfolio, allowing clients to have the entire experience of dedicated infrastructure and services with on-demand scalability, simplicity, and agility.

“With the launch of Atos’ Nimbix Supercomputing Suite, we continue to firmly reinforce our global leadership in high performance computing, taking on the performance and cost-effective advantages enterprises are seeking for their data-driven environments,” said Emmanuel Le Roux, Group SVP, Head of HPC AI & Quantum, Atos. “Also, thanks to our longstanding expertise in multi-, hybrid cloud built into our newly launched offerings, customers can integrate their HPC workflows in the most comprehensive as-a-Service portfolio in the industry; including seamless integration with any hyperscale CSPs.”
