Endurance International Group, a multiple-brand web hosting provider with brands including Bluehost, HostGator, iPage and Domain.com, has appointed Mike Olson as the new Brand Chief Executive Officer of Bluehost. Olson succeeds Dan Handy, who has joined Endurance’s enterprise-wide mobile team to develop next generation mobile solutions for small businesses.
Bluehost, part of the Endurance family of brands, is a provider of cloud hosting based solutions, including web hosting and other web presence services. Bluehost currently powers over two million websites worldwide.
“Mike is the perfect person to lead Bluehost as we expand globally and develop an even stronger brand presence, while also strengthening common systems and processes across the Endurance family of brands,” said Ron LaSalvia, Chief Operating Officer of Endurance. “He possesses a tremendous understanding of online businesses, customer support, sales, and development of brands that resonate with customers. We are very excited to have him at the helm of Bluehost.”
Prior to joining Endurance, Mike Olson was Vice President and General Manager of the Multi Dwelling Unit (MDU) and Hotel Markets for DIRECTV. While there, he reduced churn, improved margins, and retooled the MDU and hotel go-to-market strategy. He has held executive level positions at both publicly and privately held communications companies and also served in the United States Marine Corps.
