XCDN, an eCommerce-based content delivery network (CDN) currently available to customers in the Americas only, is moving to the global stage. Exceda’s CDN solution, currently available only to customers in the Americas, will incorporate multiple CDN partners to deliver customers’ website content to – and from – anywhere in the world beginning this summer.
XCDN caches customer website content in hundreds of thousands of servers located in networks and data centers all over the world. Content is served from the closest location to the end user, measured in both distance and network conditions to minimize latency.
Companies that use XCDN would be protected from site outages and slowdowns due to heavy visitor traffic, Internet outages, and malicious traffic. These benefits come at a low monthly cost for the XCDN service, says Exceda, while reducing additional spending on physical or cloud web infrastructure.
“We are proud to have created a world-class service that makes it extremely fast and easy for customers to get onboard and deliver their sites to users everywhere,” said Claudio Marinho, co-founder of Exceda. “The expansion of XCDN to the world stage based on a multi-CDN strategy enables Exceda to offer high-powered and cost-effective CDN services to customers everywhere in the world.”
Founded in 2002 in São Paulo, Brazil, Exceda is an Akamai partner delivering CDN, DDoS, WAF, Data Analysis and Professional Services solutions to help customers accelerate and protect web performance while reducing infrastructure costs.
“Simplicity is at the heart of XCDN. Customers pay a flat rate for traffic delivered anywhere in the world,” said Terry Drozdowski, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Exceda. “We believe that XCDN will be extremely attractive to small businesses throughout Europe, Asia, and Africa who will be able deliver their sites via XCDN starting in July. Anyone in the world with a website and a credit card will be able to accelerate and protect their website’s performance.”
XCDN is available to customers in the Americas at xcdn.exceda.com. Exceda’s CDN service will be available for sales outside the Americas as of July 1, 2017.
