“The promise of AI is vast, but its progress is hugely dependent on the computer systems that it runs on,” said Andre Reitenbach, CEO at G-Core Labs.

To fulfill the data sovereignty demands of European corporations, major labs, and research institutions, G-Core Labs’ first IPU service will be constructed on an initial IPU cluster in Luxembourg, with further growth anticipated in Central Europe. The IPU-based AI cloud from G-Core Labs is intended to assist enterprises in a variety of industries, including banking, healthcare, manufacturing, and scientific research. It is designed to help them through every step of their AI adoption process, from proof-of-concept development to training and implementation.

Customers would be able to address real-world business challenges and innovate quicker with ready-made solutions for AI applications such as natural language processing, computer vision, and conversational AI, as well as additional implementation resources, training, and support.

“We are very proud that G-Core Labs is the first European cloud service provider to partner with Graphcore to bring new innovations for a rapidly changing cloud market. Artificial Intelligence is evolving fast and users are looking to trusted technology partners like G-Core Labs for powerful AI cloud services that are highly efficient, easily accessible and highly flexible, to suit their changing needs,” said Andre Reitenbach, CEO at G-Core Labs. “The promise of AI is vast, but its progress is hugely dependent on the computer systems that it runs on. Graphcore has shown, through its commercial and research partnerships, that the IPU is an innovation accelerator, opening up new avenues in AI research while also delivering outstanding performance per dollar.”

“G-Core Labs cloud infrastructure underpins countless industries, from finance and medicine to ecommerce and gaming. They have a proven record of making cutting-edge compute technologies accessible, affordable, and scalable,” said Nigel Toon, Co-founder and CEO of Graphcore. “Working together, Graphcore and G-Core Labs will make the power and flexibility of the IPU available to anyone what wants to take their AI compute to the next level – whether that’s accelerating their current workloads or exploring the use of next generation models that demand specialist systems, designed for artificial intelligence”.

G-Core Labs is currently developing a single AI cloud service for training and deploying AI applications. The platform will operate on a one-stop-shop model, allowing developers to focus entirely on the development of their machine learning models and services rather than worrying about infrastructure, software downloads, setup, and providing frameworks, data storage systems, and technical support for all of these elements.

During the year 2022, G-Core Labs wants to grow its IPU cloud service across Europe, the United States, and Asia.

Atos, a European AI and HPC technology pioneer, collaborated closely with G-Core Labs and Graphcore to install IPUs in the G-Core cloud as a systems integrator. According to G-Core, Atos will also leverage the G-Core Cloud to provide its own client base with efficient on-demand access to IPU technology.
